2 Construction Workers Abducted from a NHIDCL Road Project Site in Assam

According to sources at the construction site, the workers were taken away by the abductors, but no ransom call has been received so far.

Two construction workers employed by northeast India-based construction company, Anusha Project Pvt Limited (APPI), were abducted by unknown armed miscreants from Laisong in Haflong, Assam on Friday evening.

One of the abducted worker is from Silchar, and the other is from Karimganj.

APPI has been contracted by NHIDCL for the construction of the 60 km stretch of the Mahur-Tamenlong road being upgraded to a 2-lane road at a cost of Rs 354.69 Crore. The project is being executed in EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) mode. The stretch is part of NH-137.
