Manipur CM chairs crucial meet with ruling MLAs to restore peace in the state

Chief Minister N Biren Singh informed that all the MLAs in the meeting took a united stand and took a firm resolution to restore peace in the state.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh chaired an all important meeting of the MLAs of the ruling front on Friday night at the cabinet hall of the secretariat and vowed to further expedite efforts for bringing permanent peace in the state.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh informed that all the MLAs in the meeting took a united stand and took a firm resolution to restore peace in the state.

Apart from discussing the prevailing situation in the meeting, the MLAs resolved to address the core issues and take adequate steps for resolving them so that lasting peace can be achieved.

Taking to X, CM Singh wrote, “Chaired a meeting at the cabinet hall of my secretariat today. Under the BJP led NDA Government, we have taken a united stand with all the ruling MLAs and took a firm resolution to restore peace in the state.”

“We have resolved to jointly take measures to address the core issues, and further implement the steps to resolve them so that a lasting peace can be ensured”, he added.

Manipur Power and Forest Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh also informed that significant measures will be implemented in the State to ensure peace and stability in the state.

The Manipur Chief Minister holding a meeting of all the ruling MLAs holds quite a lot of significance as he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in constant touch with him for the sole purpose of bringing peace in the state.

CM N Biren Singh had said this in response after Rahul Gandhi, during his recent visit to Manipur, urged the Prime Minister to travel to the strife-torn state and provide support to people affected by the violence.

Meanwhile, CM also chaired a cabinet meeting prior to the separate meeting with the ruling MLAs. During the cabinet meet, various agendas were deliberated with include the transfer policies for BDF, Manipur Private School Regulation Act, and Integrated Management Plan for Loktak Wetlands among others.

It has been decided that the state Assembly session will convene on July 31, 2024, Singh said.
