In a proud Moment for the region, Manipur’s Mirabai Chanu received Khel Ratna and Hima Das from Assam received Arjuna Award from President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rastrapati Bhawan in New Delhi.
While, Mirabai Chanu has been recognised for her exemplary feat at the Commonwealth Games, where she won gold in weightlifting earlier this year, Hima Das has been awarded with the Arjuna Award for her extra-ordinary performance at the recently concluded Jakarta Asian Games, where she grabbed three medals including a gold in the mixed 4×400 relay race.
