They demanded resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Four leftist youth and student organizations, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), Students’ Federation of India (SFI), Tribal Students Union (TSU), and Tribal Youth Federation (TYF) staged a protest rally in Agartala, Tripura today, decrying alleged irregularities in various national-level selection tests conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development such as NEET-UG, UGC-NET, and CET.

The protest rally commenced from the Paradise Chowmuni area and passed through the streets of the capital city, with demonstrators voicing their demands and raising slogans.

Protesters expressed concerns over the future of students, who they claimed are panicking and becoming victims of the irregularities and misguided educational policies of the BJP-led central government.

They demanded resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing his failure to address and prevent the irregularities in various examinations, which he has acknowledged.

They also demanded strict punishment for those involved in these irregularities, noting that many examinations had to be canceled due to pressure from opposition parties and youth and student organizations.

They said that since the introduction of the National Education Policy (NEP), they have been opposing it as it is part of the government’s strategy to centralize, saffronize, and commercialize the country’s education system, driven by hidden Hindutva ideology.

They also highlighted the urgent need for reforms in the examination process to ensure fairness and transparency, protecting the interests of students nationwide.
