Tripura’s chess prodigy Aradhya Das clinches bronze medal in the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2024

She defeated Milana Filippova of Kazakhstan to win the medal

Aradhya Das, a teen chess prodigy from Tripura brought laurels to the state and the country by clinching a bronze medal in the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2024 held between June 9 to 21, 2024 at Almaty, Kazakhstan.

She won the bronze medal in the under 10 Girls category with a score of 6.5/9 by defeating Milana Filippova of Kazakhstan.

Her achievement, which has garnered praises from her coaches, teachers, and well-wishers, marks a key milestone in her rapidly developing career.

Aradhya Das aspires to become a chess grandmaster.

India won a total of 8 medals–one gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze at the 26th Asian Youth Chess Championships 2024.

Chess players from 34 countries participated in the tournament.
