Congress MLA and former Minister Sudip Roy Barman highlighted that over the past seven years, at least 70 question papers have leaked under the Modi government, including those for NEET

As part of its nationwide protest programme, Congress members of Tripura took to the streets in Agartala to condemn the National Testing Agency (NTA) over the cancellation of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2024.
The protesters demanded the scrapping of the NTA and called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, symbolically burning his effigy during the demonstration.
The Congress party expressed concerns about repeated incidents of question paper and answer key leaks in various examinations conducted by the NTA, which they claim have deprived deserving candidates of fair opportunities.
Congress also expressed concern that despite these scams, the government has failed to arrest and punish those responsible.
Commenting on the exam cancellation and NEET results, Congress MLA and former Minister Sudip Roy Barman highlighted that over the past seven years, at least 70 question papers have leaked under the Modi government, including those for NEET and UGC NET.
Barman criticized the NTA’s incompetency and called for its dissolution. He also demanded the resignation of Union MHRD Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing his failure to fulfill his duties effectively.
The senior Congress leader viewed that the cancellation of NET exams after the alleged NEET examination scam speaks volumes about the sorry state of affairs in the conduct of entrances and examinations in the country but PM Modi is maintaining silence on it.
He emphasized the need for concrete measures from the MHRD to prevent such recurring scams, which jeopardize the careers of countless students.
Barman also demanded a CBI investigation into these issues and under the Supreme Court’s monitoring.
The Union Ministry of Education cancelled the UGC NET June 2024 test, held on June 18, after receiving inputs of cybercrime. This cancellation adds to the ongoing controversy surrounding the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and has sparked protests across the nation.
The protesters in Agartala and elsewhere voiced their frustration, insisting that examination scams have become routine and demanding immediate and effective action from the Education Ministry to safeguard the integrity of the examination system.
