Meanwhile, Likabali MLA Kardo Nigyor has been elected as the Deputy Speaker. Earlier yesterday the Eight Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly commenced its first day with the swearing-in of 60 newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly. The ceremony took place in the state legislative assembly, marking the beginning of a new legislative term. Ninong Ering who was sworn in as the Pro tem Speaker on Thursday, administered the oaths to the newly-elected legislators of the State Legislative Assembly.
