Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take oath for a historic third consecutive term on June 9 at 7.15pm at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Along with Narendra Modi, other members of the Union Council of Ministers will also take oath on Sunday.
President Droupadi Murmu will be administering the Oath of Office and Secrecy to PM Modi and members of the Union Council of Ministers.
A security setup similar to that used for the G20 summit will be implemented for the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi , TOI reported.
Ground-to-air surveillance will be coordinated with intelligence agencies and the armed forces to ensure central Delhi’s security. Advanced intrusion alert systems, posture detection mechanisms, and covert snipers will all be employed, utilizing every possible resource to address the significant security challenges, reports said.
The event will be witnessed by several dignitaries.
The heads of governments of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius and Seychelles are among the neighbours who have been invited for Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
Among them, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda have confirmed their presence.
On the same day, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe also accepted PM Modi’s invitation to attend his swearing-in ceremony.
During his conversation, PM Modi invited President Wickremesinghe to his oath ceremony, which the Sri Lankan president accepted.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to leave Dhaka on June 8 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka for Delhi at 11 am on Saturday, June 8 and will return home at noon on June 10 after attending the swearing-in ceremony of PM Narendra Modi, due to the change in the oath-taking ceremony dates,” said Bangladesh PM’s Speech Writer, M Nazrul Islam.
