Assam: 13 people fall ill after consuming poisonous mushrooms in Charaideo

As many as 13 people have fallen ill after consuming poisonous mushrooms in Assam’s Charaideo district.

The incident has been reported from the Borhat Tea Estate under the Borhat police station in Charaideo.

On Tuesday, tea garden workers reportedly gathered wild mushrooms and prepared soup out of them. 4 individuals developed food poisoning symptoms after consuming the mushroom soup, and 9 more people experienced the same today.

Out of the 13 affected persons, the condition of 5 persons is stated to be serious. They are currently undergoing treatment at the Assam Medical College & Hospital in Dibrugarh.
