1 held with heroin worth Rs 1.2 cr in Tripura

The arrested drug dealer has been identified as Kabir Uddin.

Continuing the war on drugs in Tripura, Bishalgarh police on Saturday seized 800 grams of heroin with a market value of Rs 1.2 crore. Police also arrested a drug dealer in connection with the seizure.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Kakali Saha of the Bishalgarh Women Police Station was checking vehicles on the Bishalgarh bypass yesterday.

She gave a signal to a biker to stop, but the biker sped away and collided with a goods vehicle near Charilam petrol pump area.

On receiving information from Kakali Saha, a team of Bishalgarh Police Station rushed to the spot and detained the biker.

On checking him, the team recovered heroin in a total of 81 packets from his possession and arrested him.

The arrested drug dealer has been identified as Kabir Uddin.
