Tripura: Agartala police nab 5 drug traffickers with a cache of brown sugar

In a significant operation aimed at combating drug trafficking, police in Agartala apprehended five drug traffickers along with a cache of brown sugar.

Inspector Sanjit Sen, officer in-charge of the East Agartala police station said, acting on precise information regarding the sale of contraband substances, a coordinated effort was launched.

During the raid, three individuals were swiftly detained, prompting a thorough search of the area, which led to the discovery of a scooty wherein authorities uncovered a pouch and hundreds of vials suspected to contain brown sugar.

The seizure marked a crucial breakthrough in the operation, indicating the presence of a significant drug trafficking network operating in the region.

Further interrogation of the detained individuals revealed vital information regarding additional accomplices involved in the illicit trade.

Acting on the disclosure police extended their operation to the Kalyani area, where two more suspects were apprehended.
