Meghalaya HSSLC results for Science and Commerce out. Pass percentage at 85.24% in Science stream, 80.26% in Commerce

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Wednesday announced the results for the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSSLC) 2024.
The board has declared the results for the science, commerce and vocational streams. The results for the Arts stream will be announced at a later date. The pass percentage in the Science stream is 85.24 percent, while for the Commerce stream it is 80.26 percent.
Sohan Bhattacharjee from Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong is the Science topper scoring 483 marks out of 500.
Gordon Kupar Nongbri of St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the second position with 476 marks, and the third position was secured by Ar Meker Marpna of Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong with 471 marks.
Ferry Filarisha Wann of St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong is the Commerce topper scoring 472 marks. Raj Paul of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the second position with 463 marks while, the third position is held by Pongkoch Dutta of Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong with 458 marks.
Taking to X, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma congratulated the students who cleared the board exam and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours.
“Heartiest congratulations to the students for clearing the MBoSE HSSLC (Science and Commerce) Stream. Pass percentage has significantly increased science is 85.24% and commerce is 80.26%. Wishing all the very best in their future endeavours,” CM Sangma posted.
In district wise, South West Garo Hills registered the highest pass percentage with 100 per cent students clearing the exams in the Science stream followed by East Jaintia Hills District with a pass percentage of 95.92 per cent while the lowest pass percentage was recorded in East Garo Hills District with 68.46 per cent of the students managing to pass the exams.
In the Commerce stream, the district with the highest pass percentage is West Khasi Hills with 100 per cent clearing the exams, followed by East Jaintia Hills at 97.50 per cent while South West Garo Hills is the lowest with a pass percentage of 60 per cent.
The MBOSE HSSLC examinations were held from March 1 to 27.
A total of 3,766 students appeared for the Science Class 12 exams, of which 3,210 passed.
In the Commerce stream, a total of 2,411 students appeared and 1,935 cleared the exams.
