Suspected petrol bomb hurled at Meghalaya Dy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar’s residence

There are no reports of any injuries to anyone so far. Dhar has lodged an FIR about the incident.

A suspected petrol bomb was hurled at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar’s residence in Nongmynsong area of Shillong. As per inputs, unknown miscreants hurled the petrol bomb from the street. The explosive landed on the balcony of the Deputy CM’s residence.

There are no reports of any injuries to anyone so far. Dhar has lodged an FIR about the incident. East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi said that security of VIPs have been beefed up and investigation into the incident has begun.

Meanwhile, in his first reaction after the incident, Deputy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar in a strong message said that anyone indulging in crime will have to face the law.

Dhar stated, “Anyone involved in crimes, we won’t spare anybody. Whoever does crime in the city or in the whole, we will not spare anyone. That is very clear from the government side.”

On the other hand, East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi sharing details about the incident and the ongoing investigations said, “Today we received an F.I.R. from Dy CM regarding one object that was hurled at his place in Nongmynsong. We are still investigating what exactly that object is. We will update once further details emerge.

It is an object which we are trying to investigate and find out what exactly it is. We are not ruling out anything at this stage. But as and when we get more clarity on that we will update.”

“We urge all peace loving citizens of the state not to take law into their own hands and cooperate with the investigations that are going on and follow the rule of law. All the vital locations and vulnerable areas we have beefed up the security. We are alert and we are on the job and all the investigations are being done in a thorough and professional manner. We are confident we are hopeful that all the perpetrators of crime and whatsoever shall be brought to justice,” SP Ravi further said.
