No water, No road, No vote, says this Tripura village

Despite having water pipelines in the area there are no provisions of pure drinking water for the residents.
Around 300 residents of Thungchrai village in a remote hilly area of Sher Chandra Para, in Tripura have threatened to boycott the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on April 26 to register their protest against the deplorable road conditions and water shortage in the area.
The villagers claimed that the area has never received clean drinking water and people are forced to survive on less than one litre of drinking water per day.
Despite having water pipelines in the area there are no provisions of pure drinking water for the residents.
The villagers alleged that water borne diseases is rampant in the village because of lack of access to clean drinking water.
Another big concern for the villagers is the bad roads. Most of the roads leading to the village are unpaved because of which the villagers face a lot of difficulties during rainy season.
It is to be mentioned here that Tripura East Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on April 26, the second phase of the general elections.
