Alleging the ruling SKM government he said that post-graduate or PhD holders are being forced into meagre government jobs, Chamling assured to bring a major employment scheme worth Rs. 10,000

With just a few days left for the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the northeastern state of Sikkim, former Chief Minister of Sikkim and the SDF Chief Pawan Chamling on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Sikkim Chief minister and SKM President PS Tamang adding that people have lost freedom of expression under the SKM government.

Speaking at a rally in Gangtok, Chamling alleged that no one believes in chief minister PS Tamang’s guarantees and the people want the SDF back.

Adding on Chamling stated that every person needs peace and the only party guaranteeing peace is the SDF.

Alleging the ruling SKM government of forcing the post-graduate or PhD holders into meagre government jobs, Chamling assured to bring a major employment scheme worth Rs. 10,000 crores if voted to power.

The SDF leader Chamling also promised to revive his Organic Mission in the State and usher in a special mountain economy focusing on developing tourism destinations. Making Sikkim a carbon-negative state, will also be high on the SDF’s agenda.

Promising to put an end to corruption in the State, Chamling took a jibe at the SKM government for favouring businessmen from outside the State.

Particularly targeting the 14-storey mall construction in Gangtok, Chamling said that a popular parking space in the heart of Gangtok has been converted into 14-storey mall illegally.

Chamling also promised to convert Gangtok into an active green city, with green space with adequate water and electricity supply.

Voting for the 32-member Sikkim Assembly and the lone Lok Sabha seat in the state will be held on April 19 and counting will take place on June 2.
