Barely a month since the inauguration of the first medical college in Mizoram and party politics has already begun.
The ruling Congress Party and the opposition Mizo National Front are engaged in a war of words over claims as to who are primarily involved behind the establishment of the educational institution.
MNF denounced Congress’ claims that the key structures were built by the ruling party.
MNF’s Vigilance Committee Secretary David Malsawmtluanga is of the opinion that the medical college could be turned into a reality only due to the commendable initiatives of the Mizo National Front.
Mr. David further went on to criticize the ruling Congress party for being hesitant in pursuing the incomplete work left by its predecessors.
He said that had the ruling party not so laid back in its attitude, the Mizoram Institute of Medical College and Research would have been established five years ago.
