BJP Sikkim MP Candidate Dinesh Chandra Nepal raised his voice against the prolonged delay and flayed the role of the previous governments

The Stairway to Heaven at Daramdin in Sikkim has emerged as a core agenda for the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections for the lone parliamentary seat in the state.

A reconstruction project connected to the faith and beliefs of the Lepcha community is yet to see completion despite 3 decades passed since in 1995 the then Sikkim Government had proposed for reconstructing the project for attracting tourism.

But the BJP has taken it upon itself to make sure that the much aspired representing the Lepcha community gets completed soon.

BJP Sikkim MP Candidate Dinesh Chandra Nepal raised his voice against the prolonged delay and flayed the role of the previous governments for their alleged inability to complete the project.

In Dinesh Chandra Nepal with his party workers reached Daramdin today and inspected the less than half completed structure.

Voicing his concern, Nepal blamed the previous government for their alleged indifference in looking into the issue and doing the needful.

The BJP MP candidate said, “We are at the Stairs to Heaven in Daramdin. This Stairs to Heaven was built 30 years ago, the local government kept on changing contractors and now the project has reached only this stage. This Stairs to Heaven represents the faith of the Lepcha community. The construction of this symbol of belief has been politicized. Due to changing of contractors frequently, revision of estimates, the project remained incomplete. The local government or the regional government could only fulfil the profits of the contractors.”

Urging everyone to stay alert against such activities of the regional parties who were in power earlier, Dinesh Chandra Nepal has appealed the voters to choose the Saffron Party for overall development.

“A national party like the BJP, is the only party that incorporates the half done works in its schedule immediately but the regional government only concentrates on how to extend its tenure.
An RTI report says that Rs 81 crore has already been spent already in the name of constructing this structure (Stairs to Heaven).

So I request everyone to vote for the BJP, for PM Narendra Modi,” Dinesh Chandra Nepal said.

The Stairway to Heaven is a Lepcha myth about a tall tower that their ancestors tried to build out of ceramic blocks in order to reach the sky.
