LS Polls: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma chairs Election Management Committee meeting

In the meeting CM Sarma briefed the party leaders on how to reach out to the voters and gain their confidence.
Determined to accomplish the mission ‘Abki Baar 400 Paar’ the BJP in Assam is on a war footing with party leaders engaged in hectic electioneering.
To set the goals right for the BJP, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma today chaired a meeting of the Election Management Committee. In the meeting CM Sarma briefed the party leaders on how to reach out to the voters and gain their confidence.
Regarding this, CM Sarma urged party leaders to highlight the Centre as well as the state govenment’s welfare push for everyone to achieve inclusive growth.
Political Secretary to CM and Convenor of the Assam BJP’s Election Management Committee, Pabitra Margherita was also present in the meeting.
Briefing newspersons, Margherita said, “Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a meeting of Election Management Committee of BJP Assam. We have 36 wings or sub-committees of the state Election Management Committee. We have now been given advice by the CM on how to reach out to people with the development work done and achievements of both central and state governments. Some strategic discussions were held. We are optimistic, all the karyakartas of BJP Assam Pradesh specially the State EMC are energized, encouraged and empowered. We look forward to working for the party and people of Assam.”
The BJP is contesting in 11 seats in Assam, while it has left the Barpeta and Dhubri Lok Sabha seats for the AGP. Another constituent of the BJP led coalition, the UPPL is contesting from the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat.
On March 14, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said that BJP and its allies – AGP and UPPL will win 13 of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam.
In 2019, BJP had won 9 of the 10 seats while its allies contesting from Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Dhubri and Kaliabor had drawn a blank.
