Former Sikkim Chief Minister and SDF supremo Pawan Chamling today hinted at the involvement of Chief Minister PS Tamang in the near fatal attack on SDF leader and former Sikkim Assembly Speaker KN Rai and demanded the arrest of the mastermind behind the attack by tomorrow. Chamling gave an ultimatum to the government and said that if the mastermind is not arrest by tomorrow, the SDF party would launch a massive protest from March 7.

“The mastermind stays in the Cancer Hospital of Sikkim, located at Mintogang, he is the mastermind. Whatever incident has happened, our demand is that the mastermind must be arrested.,” Chamling said refusing to name the CM directly.

“No I will not say that it is the CM,” Chamling said when asked if he was referring to the CM.

Regarding the condition of KN Rai, Chamling said, “The health condition of KN Rai is very critical, he is struggling between life and death.”

Seeking justice for KN Rai, Pawan Chamling said, “We tolerated much, now it is time to protest and fight for justice. We will hit the streets from March 7th.”

The five-time former CM has urged the Election Commission of India and the Centre to look into the matter and the overall law and order situation in Sikkim and once again reiterated the party’s demand for President’s Rule for fair and free polls.

“We are fully prepared for the election. It is likely that the dates will be announced on March 12,” the former CM said.

SDF celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day today and hundreds joined the party today including SKM’s Legal Cell General Secretary Sonam Lachungpa, Dr Sangeeta Bhandari, wife of former MLA Late J K Bhandari, Limboo-Tamang Voluntary Committee (LTVC) President Yehang Tsong, all executive members of LTVC, retired secretary of the Transport Department H K Lamichhane and CAP president of Soreng District Geeta Karki.
