In an effort to make functioning of the Manipur Legislative Assembly more transparent and seamless, Chief Minister N Biren Sing today launched the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) in the Assembly. This is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concept of ‘One Nation – One Application’.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh has said that one main objective for launching NeVA is to help (the Assembly) become more transparent, accessible, accountable and effective in promoting democracy. He said that this will be beneficial to the economy and environment.
“The Digital House initiative will revolutionize how we interact with our legislative processes, making information more accessible and enabling greater citizen engagement. With this initiative we are advancing towards a digital future while preserving the values of democracy and accountability,” he added.
CM N Biren Singh said, “With NeVA, Manipur Assembly takes a significant stride today towards a digital era, empowering our legislatures and citizens alike with state of art tools and resources to engage meaningfully in the democratic process. Through this platform, members will have access to comprehensive digital resources including legislative documents, committee reports, debates, and much more.”
The 5th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly is set to begin tomorrow.
A training session for members of Manipur Legislative Assembly was held at the assembly hall today, during which experts demonstrated on the usage guidelines of NeVA.
It may be mentioned here that, in Northeast, Assam Legislative Assembly and Meghalaya Legislative Assembly have already gone paperless earlier this year.
