Manipur CM assures strong action against incidents of arson in state

The Manipur CM said, "We were facing a law & order situation in town because of some miscreants."
Manipur CM N Biren Singh today said that his government will take strong action and steps against incidents of arson that took place in the past few days in the state and reign in the law and order situation.
CM N Biren Singh said that though the overall situation has improved there is a law and order situation in the town since some miscreants are trying to derail peace and tranquility.
The Manipur CM said, “We were facing a law & order situation in town because of some miscreants. So the government especially the home department is monitoring, we will take stringent action to control the situation.”
However, the Manipur Chief Minister maintained that the overall situation has improved with no untoward situation reported in the state.
“Regarding the conflict with the government and some militants now it is almost becoming normal. In last 3-4 months no unwanted incident has taken place,” CM N Biren Singh said.
A powerful bomb blast was reported from Imphal on Friday night inside the DM College campus, killing 1 and injuring another.
The blast reportedly took place at the AMSU Office inside the DM College Campus around 9:20pm.
Following the incident, the injured persons were rushed to a nearbyhospital, where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
The United Committee Manipur (UCM) office was set ablaze by unknown miscreants the same night, which was located 200 metres away from the Lamphel Police station.
The UCM leadership had blamed the incident on alleged failure of the state intelligence.
