Stir over APPSC paper leak: Arunachal CM says youths are being misled

This is CM Khandu's first response after the PAJSC staged protest since February 18 in Itanagar including boycott of the 38th Statehood Day celebrations on February 20.

In a big statement to the protests surrounding the APPSC paper leak case, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today said that the youths of the state are being misled and confusion being created over the issue.

This is CM Khandu’s first response after the PAJSC staged protest since February 18 in Itanagar including boycott of the 38th Statehood Day celebrations on February 20.

Khandu backing the government action said that there has been complete overhauling in the ranks of APPSC as well as other officials of the statutory body which was a part of the reformation as demanded by the agitating groups.

The Arunachal Pradesh CM said,” I think there is a big confusion going around, someone is trying to mislead the youths of Arunachal Pradesh. As I have always mentioned APPSC is an autonomous body. Unfortunately, it has been more than a year that we all understand and know due to the paper leakage matter or you can say that paper selling incident, for more than a year APPSC could not conduct exam. After that we said system overhauling is most important. Now, from the Chairman to the Member as well as other employees, there has been complete overhauling.”

Khandu said that it is now the responsibility of the APPSC itself to chalk out the future course of action.
“New Chairman and Members have taken over, new set of officials have been posted. Since it is an autonomous body, it is their own responsibility to fix their own SOP. This is not under the control of the government,” CM Khandu said.

“There was a demand for a CBI probe, so we brought the CBI, there was a demand for a NIA probe, similarly NIA too came here, the investigation part is underway. There has to be recruitment for thousands of posts sanctioned by the government. Last year when the issue of paper leak came to our notice we decided that the cut off age be increased to 40 years from 37 years, so that people can get justice,” the Arunachal Pradesh CM added.
