Assam: Jorhat BJP MP Tapan Kumar Gogoi fractures leg

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has wished the Jorhat Lok Sabha MP a speedy recovery
Assam’s BJP MP from the Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency Tapan Kumar Gogoi fractured his leg during a foundation stone laying ceremony at Rupohimukh in Sivasagar district.
As per reports, the MP slipped and fell.
The incident occured when Gogoi lost footing over a slippery surface during his inspection of an open ground and fractured his right leg. Following this, he was rushed to the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital. (JMCH).
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through a post on social media, wished Gogoi a quick recovery. In his post the CM wrote, “HCM Dr @himantabiswa expressed his grave concern on learning about the condition of Hon’ble MP Shri @ToponKumarGogo1 who met with an unfortunate incident and has suffered subsequent injuries.
HCM prays for his quick recovery.”
Assam Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika took to social media and wished for Tapan Gogoi’s speedy recovery. In his post the minister wrote, “Anguished to hear the news. Get well soon @ToponKumarGogo1 da.”
The MP’s injury as seen by many has come at a worse time since the Lok Sabha elections are approaching fast and is likely to be held anytime soon in April.
