TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Debbarma has thanked Chief Minister Manik Saha for assuring that status quo would be maintained regarding the script for Kokborok examination to be conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE).
After the state saw critical highlights blocked by supporters of the Tipra Indigenous Students Federation (TISF) and the Twipra Students Federation (TSF) demanding inclusion of the Roman script alongside Bengali for Kokborok language in the Kokborok examinations on Monday, the state government has accepted their demand.
Confirming about the government’s assurance, Tripura cabinet minister and state government spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury said, “There will be status quo, exams will be conducted in the same manner as it was done before. Students will have the option of both Roman as well as Bengali script.”
Thanking the Chief Minister, Pradyot Debbarma said that he has no personal enmity against any opposition leader. The only goal is to empower the indigenous Tripura community constitutionally. He said that he believes in positive mindset to solve solutions.
“Spoken to the Hon CM @DrManikSaha2 and thanked him for maintaining status quo regarding the script for the TBSE examination. I believe that we can be in the opposition but we can still maintain a dialogue . I have no personal animosity against any opposition leader be it from BJP or my previous party the Congress in Tripura . The agenda is constitutionally empowering our indigenous community from Tripura. I believe in positive mindset to solve solutions,” Pradyot Debbarma posted on X.
In a subsequent post on X, Debbarma said, “Being polite and yet firm for the well being of our people is important. Finally I know we cannot make everyone happy/satisfied all the time but the best we can do is to try.”
