Tripura: TIPRA Motha demands removal of TBSE president Dr Dhananjoy Gonchowdhury

Tripura Leader of Opposition- TIPRA Motha, Animesh Debbarma today demanded removal of president of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Dr. Dhanonjoy Ganchowdhury given the manner he mishandled the entire situation regarding the language preference for Kokborok examination in Tripura.

Addressing the media in Agartala, Animesh Debbarma stated that Dr. Dhanonjoy Ganchowdhury’s action has cause the indefinite rail and road blockade organized by the Tipra Indigenous Students Federation (TISF) and the Twipra Students Federation (TSF). In the midst of the delicate circumstances over the matter, he declared that students would soon be allowed to write answers to the Kokborok exam in either Bengali or Roman script. However, three days later, he reversed his decision and said Roman script will be not accepted.

Animesh Debbarma said that being the president of the board, Ganchowdhury’s responsibility was to make understand everyone what the majority of the students want and the how the issue can be resolved.

Debbarma said that given the fact how he handled the entire situation, the State government should consider removing him from his position soon.

Furthermore, he cautioned the government that if their demands for a solution to unemployment, the recruitment of Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) and TET and other local issues are not addressed soon, the TIPRA Motha will hold agitation in the coming days.
