Assam DGP GP Singh informed that the trainees have been properly briefed about the rules and regulations, failing which it will attract strong action
In a rather sensational incident a scuffle broke out between 2 groups of trainees from Manipur at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Assam’s Golaghat district last night.
7 Manipur trainees were reportedly injured in the incident which prompted the top brass of the Assam Police to swing into action.
Assam DGP GP Singh in a post on X informed, “Today evening there was a scuffle between the trainees from Manipur at Lachit Barphukan Police Academy over distribution of dinner. The matter is now resolved. The Range IGP and DIG Training are with the boys.”
In a separate post, the Assam DGP warned the trainees to follow the rules and regulations failing which it would attract tough training measures. The post read, “Reference scuffle at Police Academy at Dergaon Assam amongst young trainees from Manipur – They’ve been briefed in no uncertain terms to follow instructions and protocols of training institute from drill to discipline to decorum. No scope would be presented to anyone to deviate from the principles that guide training in our Academy. Any aberrant Behaviour would be corrected through tough training measures.”
But it was indeed a happy sight as the Manipur trainees soon joined together setting aside whatever had happened. Some of them belted out popular Bollywood songs. Assam DGP GP Singh also posted a video of this.
On the other hand, the Manipur Police too after learning about the incident deputed a senior officer to take stock of the situation and take appropriate measures. Regarding this, the Manipur Police in a post on X said, “A senior officer from Manipur police ,M. Pradip Singh,IPS is being deputed tomorrow to Dergaon to take stock of the situation.
