Meghalaya: Over 458 newly-appointed government L.P School teachers recieve appointment letters

In a bid to improve the teaching-learning process of lower primary schools, the Meghalaya government today distributed appointment letters to over 458 newly-appointed government L.P School teachers.

The newly-appointed teachers were handed over their appointment letters by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in a ceremony held in Tura, West Garo Hills.

Notably, this comes after a long gap in the recruitment process and after implementation of the roster system.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the government is committed to improve education in rural areas and the appointment of qualified teachers will significantly improve children’ performance from an early age, therefore boosting the overall quality of education throughout the state.

Taing to X, CM Sangma wrote, “A happy day in Tura as we distributed appointment letters to over 458 newly-appointed Government L P School Teachers. This comes after a long gap in the recruitment process and after implementation of the roster system. As a Government we are committed to improve education in rural areas and the appointment of qualified teachers will greatly enhance the performance of students from a young age thereby improving the overall quality of education across the state.”

CM Sangma also called upon the teachers to stay committed to students, to their duty as teachers and lay strong foundations of knowledge in the student’s lives.
