Tripura’s John Jamatia selected for India team in Subrata Mukherjee Cup International Football Tournament

Tripura CM Manik Saha congratulated John and wished him luck

Young footballer from Tripura, John Jamatia, has been selected for the Indian football team to play at the Subrata Mukherjee Cup International Football Tournament.

The All India Football Federation has sent a letter to Tripura Sports School requesting that they send John Jamatia for a training session to play for the Indian team in the Under-17 Elite Youth League.

Jamatia was selected by the selection committee, based on his performance in several Subrata Mukherjee Cup national tournaments held in New Delhi and Bangalore between September 19 and October 23 of last year.

Chief Minister Manik Saha took to X to congratulate Jamatia and wrote, “Proud moment for Tripura…John Jamatia, a young footballer from Tripura, has been invited to join the Indian football team for an international tournament. This is a rare & exciting opportunity for him & for the state. Soon we will be seeing him in the Indian team jersey. Congratulations John Jamatia for making us proud.”
