Union Home Minister Amit Shah to visit Assam today

Shah is slated to take part in a cleanliness drive at the revered Mahabhairav Temple in Tezpur.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Assam today for a 2-day visit after concluding his engagements in Meghalaya.
Shah is slated to take part in a cleanliness drive at the revered Mahabhairav Temple in Tezpur.
The Home Minister is also slated to attend a cultural programme at Tezpur University in honour of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika.
Tomorrow, he will attend the 61st Raising Day celebration of the SSB at the SSB complex in Tezpur, in Sonitpur district.
Shah will also attend the 13th triennial conference of the All Bathou Mahasabha at Dhekiajuli.
He will then head to Guwahati where the Home Minister will attend the passing-out parade of Assam Police commandos at Sarusajai Stadium..
Later, he will release a book titled Assam’s Braveheart Lachit Barphukhan at Srimanta Sankardeva International Audiotorium.
The Union Home Minister will also inaugurate the Brahmaputra Riverfront in Guwahati later in the day, before leaving for Delhi.
Shah will arrive in Assam after chairing the 71st Plenary Session of North East Council at the Meghalaya state convention centre in Shillong and reviewing the various works of the North Eastern Space Applications Centre or NESAC.
