Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that his Manipur counterpart N Biren Singh has requested him to allow the newly recruits of Manipur Police Battalion to take training programme in Assam’s Dergaon due to the ongoing violence in the state.

According to reports, earlier, the newly recruited soldiers from the 10th and 11th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) have requested the appropriate authorities to arrange for the training program to be held at the regular Manipur Police Training College in Pangei instead of in Assam or any other location outside of Manipur.
