Arunachal’s The All Nyishi Youth Association has questioned the Arunachal Pradesh government over the delay in the release of ANYA activists as well as others arrested during the pressure group’s bandh call earlier this month.
At a briefing for the media, ANYA president Byabang Joram stated that there are at least 45 people who have been lodged at the Tezu Jail. Besides, the ANYA president also wondered as to why the police had charged different sections, at least 10 against each person.
Byabang Joram added that necessary efforts are being made by the legal advisers of the ANYA to free the arrested individuals.

Byabang Joram said that the government must probe the matter and take necessary action if necessary evidence is found. The ANYA president demanded that the police come clean and inform the public about the procurement of firearms by members of the group during the 36-hour shutdown call.
