MC Mary Kom’s husband, Onkholer Kom, is all set to debut in the upcoming Manipur Assembly Elections by contesting from the 59th Saikot (ST) Assembly Constituency of Churachandpur District.
Onkholer has expressed his will to contest the upcoming assembly election on the BJP ticket. He said that he has not yet decided on joining any specific political party as of now.
Onkholer Kom said that Saikot is yet to see the light of development and there are a lot of things that need to be done. He added that there should be a healthy and cordial relationship between the people and their public representatives in order to better comprehend the grievances.

He stated that he had visited over 200 villages under Saikot and had received a positive response from the villagers. Onkholer said that several villages in the Saikot constituency are reeling under issues ranging from access to clean drinking water, roads, and schools, which he would address if he wins the people’s mandate.
As far as the manifesto is concerned, Onkhler added that he would like to work for the holistic development of the constituency and the welfare of the people. Onkholer on Saturday attended a blessing programme held at his native village, Samulamlan, in Saikot AC in Churachandpur district.
