Tripura celebrates 50th Statehood day

Tripura is also celebrating its 50 years of statehood today in a grand manner. A special programme was held at Agartala’s Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in the presence of Chief Miniter Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Deb Barma, and other cabinet ministers.

At the program, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, who was also present, acknowledged the increase in income of farmers in the state after the formation of the new government in 2018. She also lauded the state government for launching the Vidyajyoti scheme, under which 100 government schools are being affiliated with the CBSE.

President Ram Nath Kovind greeted the people of Tripura as well as Manipur and Meghalaya on the statehood day of these three states from the Northeast.

Taking to Twitter, President Kovind, wrote “Greetings to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura on Statehood Day. These states, full of natural riches, represent the vibrant culture and unique traditions of our northeast. My best wishes to the citizens of these states for a happy and prosperous future,” tweeted the Rashtrapati Bhavan today.”

PM Modi also extended his greetings to the three Northeast states on their statehood day.

“Greetings to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya, and Tripura on their Statehood Days. These states are making vibrant contributions to India’s development. Praying for their constant progress.” the Prime Minister wrote on Twitter today.
