Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is all set to hold an all-party meet today on the issue of resolving the inter-state border row with Meghalaya.
The meeting would see the participation of organisations such as the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), All Assam Rabha Students’ Union (AARSU) and others.
The meeting comes just a day after Chief Ministers of both the states held an informal meeting at Koinadhora.

Talking on the matter yesterday after the meet with Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the regional committees formed by the Assam government on the inter-state border row have submitted their reports and now the points would be discussed.
CM Sarma said that the all-party meeting would discuss the points of the reports with various stakeholders.
It may be mentioned that to settle the border dispute in 12 locations, Assam and Meghalaya formed regional committees led by cabinet ministers of both states back in August.
The focus has been on historical facts, ethnicity, administrative convenience, contiguity of the land, willingness, and people’s sentiments.
