Assam Governor tests positive for Covid-19

The Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Professor Jagdish Mukhi, has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently being treated at the Apollo Hospital in Guwahati.

Governor Mukhi is being supervised by a team of specialised doctors from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, a spike in COVID cases can be seen in Assam. The state registers 3,274 new cases today. Of those, 1138 have been registered in the Kamrup Metropolitan district.

In the last 24 hours, the state has reported four COVID-related deaths. Notably, the positive rate for COVID has risen to 6.56 percent.Assam’s recovery rate, on the other hand, is currently at 96.96 percent.
