Amid the Covid spike in Meghalaya, the government has decided to extend the winter vacation for schools till January 24. The ongoing winter vacation was supposed to get over by January 10, but it has now been extended until January 24.

Earlier, Meghalaya has issued fresh Covid SOP to mitigate the spread of the virus in the state.

As per the new SOP, Covid testing at all state entry points will continue, even for those fully vaccinated. Production of a negative Covid report taken in the last 72 hours has been made mandatory for those entering the state, failing which the test will be conducted at the entry points.

Moreover, the State government has also urged all eligible individuals to take the Covid vaccine.

Meanwhile in the last 24 hours, Meghalaya reported 70 fresh Covid cases taking the active Covid tally in the state to 448, the state also registered 2 more Covid deaths in the same time period.
