In the wake of the rapid surge in the daily COVID-19 positivity rate in Tripura, the state government is mullinging coming up with a new set of SOPs in order to curb the further spread of the virus.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that a key meeting involving top officials of the state health department headed by the Chief Secretary will be held today followed by a Cabinet meeting after which the government will come up with a new set of revised Covid guidelines.

It is worth mentioning here that the COVID positivity rate has jumped from 0.20% to 3.90% in the past 3 days in the state.
A special drive will be carried out from today to ensure strict implementation of COVID’s appropriate behaviour.
Besides, checking at all entry points into the state including surface, rail and air shall be strictly conducted.

Meanwhile, the state reported 103 new cases, taking the total active tally in the state to 330. With one more death, the death toll in the state has climbed to 827, while the recovery rate currently stands at 98.64%.
