In a big feat, Assam’s Raktim Thakuria has been selected in the top 5 of India’s Best Dancer reality show aired on Sony TV.
Soon after the news of this feat reached his native village, Saderi in Bajali District, villagers gathered at his residence to celebrate the success. Raktim Thakuria graduated from Delhi University.

His father, Gajendra Nath Thakuria, worked as a programme producer at Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati, while his mother, Moromi Thakuria, is a Professor in the Department of English at Guwahati’s Hengerabari Junior College.
The parents said that their son Raktim has been a very hard-working boy since childhood and they are proud of him.

Earlier, Assam girl Florina Gogoi won the dance reality show Super Dance Chapter 4. She took home the gleaming trophy along with the prize money of Rs 15 lakh. While Florina was always a strong contestant, she did not have a smooth ride. Given her passion towards dance, the young girl from Assam worked hard to win the show.
