Addressing a mega rally Prime Minister Modi focussed solely on the development mantra even as he indirectly slighted the Congress not even bothering to target it once indicating that the opposition is no factor for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the ensuing Assembly polls in the state.

He criticised the approach of the previous governments for leaving Manipur to its fate and alienating its people.

Prime Minister Modi, during his speech, invoked history, spoke about the present and the plans for the future.

From recollecting Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s feat of hoisting the tricolour in British India at Manipur’s Moirang to terming Rani Gadinliu as an inspiration to the youths of the region, Prime Minister Modi called Manipur and the Northeast the driving force of India’s growth engine.

Among the projects that were inaugurated by PM Modi were a steel bridge built over the Barak river, over 2000 mobile towers, and drinking water-related works.

He also inaugurated a new COVID-19 hospital, a new ITI at Kangpokpi, and projects under ‘Imphal Smar City Mission’.
