Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new terminal of the Maharaja Bir Bikram airport in Tripura.
PM Modi first reached the aiport’s new terminal upon landing in Agartala, where he was given a tour of the new terminal building by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in the presence of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

The Prime Minister later formally launched the new airport terminal at a rally organised at the Vivekananda Ground.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the mission100 Vidyajyoti Schools in the state and Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana.
PM Modi also addressed the massive crowd gathered at the rally and talked of the major development push in Tripura by the BJP government. He talked of the three projects that he inaugurated today and how they would benefit the people of Tripura.
He added that Tripura becoming trade corridor with opening of rail, water ways through Bangladesh.
PM Modi also accused the past state governments of stalling the development and progress of Tripura and deliberately keeping the state backwards.

He reiterated that BJP being in power both in the Centre as well at the state of Tripura has ensured a double engine government for the people.
PM Modi also said that the Centre and the state are working to create Tripura as the gateway to Assam and the Northeast in terms of utilising the waterways emphasing the concept of HIRA which translates to Highways-Internet-Railways-Airways for the overall development of Tripura.
He also called upon the people to come forward and make the new drive to vaccinate persons from the age group of 15 to 18 years age group a success.
