The India Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog in isolated pockets in night and morning hours very likely over Northeast India during the next 2-3 days.
During the week from 30th December 2021 to 5th January 2022, light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall is very likely to occur over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya & Sikkim within 24 hours and dry weather over the region thereafter. Isolated thunderstorms are also likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya within 24 hours.
In the bi-weekly forecast, IMD also forecast minimum temperatures to be normal to above normal over parts of northeastern states during the week from 6th to 12th of January 2022.
It is be mentioned that heavy snowfall has affected the movement of vehicles with roads under heavy snow. Tourists visiting these areas have been stranded in different locations due to the heavy snowfall. ITBP, state police personnel, Army is rescuing the stranded tourists and also providing shelter to them.
As already reported by Northeast Live due to heavy snowfall Police in Arunachal Pradesh have issued orders to close down the Jang entry gate for the Jang and Sela Pass, which connects Tawang with the rest of the country, for commuters.
