Assam-Meghalaya border issue: Regional committees to submit report by Jan 15

Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informs that the regional committees on the borders of Assam and Meghalaya will be submitting their reports by January 15 next year. Also Read:

Tynsong informed that the chief ministerial level meeting between both states which were held on Wednesday was fruitful and things were moving in the right direction.

He added that committees on both sides have agreed to submit their reports before January 15.

Responding to claims that the people along the border areas were being forced by both states to leave their respected areas, Tynsong said that Chief Ministers of both Assam and Meghalaya have unanimously decided to set aside all such claims and are committed to bring out a lasting solution.
