With merely a week left for Christmas celebrations, the Meghalaya government has issued a fresh set of SOPs to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
As per the government directive, people above 65 years of age, people with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children are advised to stay indoors.

However, persons who are fully vaccinated have been allowed to attend the celebrations. The government has further appealed to all to get inoculated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Other measures include maintaining a distance of 5 feet in public places, use of face masks and hand sanitisers at all times, ban on spitting in public places, among others.
In this regard, Churches have also been advised to comply with the latest SOPs, and include staggering services.
