Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad has decided to discontinue the protocol of using carcade, calling it an unnecessary burden on the State Exchequer.

Vehicles of District Magistrate or Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Superintendent of Police or Sub divisional Police Officer are the listed vehicles which shall be discontinued being a part of the Governor’s carcade.

As per the letter from the Raj Bhawan to the Home Department, it was stated that the vehicles accompanying carcade of the Governor consumes unnecessary fuel which is an unnecessary burden on the States Exchequer.

Further, in the notification states that the Governor wishes such practices may be discontinued.
