With Manipur elections scheduled to be held in October 2022, the Election Commission of India has started its Special Summary Revision(SSR)for the state.

CEO Manipur Rajesh Agrawal announced the starting of the SSR process will on November 1 which is slated to continue till 30th November 2021

While addressing a press conference at CEO Office in Imphal CEO Rajesh Agrawal further informed that the key focus for the month-long Special Summary Revision will be the enollment of 1st-time voters who have already turned 18 on January 1st,  2021 or will reach the legal voting age by 1st of  January 2022.

The Manipur CEO appealed to those who fall under this bracket to take the opportunity to register themselves so that they don’t miss out from exercising their franchise.

Agarwal also informed that a Draft Photo Electoral Rolls of all 60 assembly constituencies will be published as part of the exercise.

According to the latest draft the total number of electors for the state of Manipur, as of the date of is 19,68,476. Ironically, female electors outnumber males in the latest draft.

The total number of female electors in Manipur as per draft publication is 10,12,655 while the number of male electors is 9,55,657

Significantly, the draft publication also hinted out the number of Third Gender as 164

The general public, electors, and representatives of political parties from today onward can verify the Draft Photo Electoral Rolls at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers or Assistant Electoral Officers and with all the Booth Level Officers.  One can also enroll, delete from and make corrections or apply for transferring their names by visiting https://voterportal.eci.gov.in/, https://www.nvsp.in/ or https://www.nvsp.in/.
