Continuing the drive against the recent increase in burglary and dacoity cases, West Tripura district police on Tuesday arrested 27 Bangladesh citizens who were living in Tripura’s capital Agartala without valid documents.

Police arrested the foreign nationals in two separate raids, 11 were arrested in the evening while 16 were arrested earlier in the day. The Bangladesh nationals were arrested from the residence of a certain Rajib Mia in Rajnagar area under Battala outpost in Agartala.

The arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been sent to judicial custody. Moreover, locals in the area have demanded an investigation and the arrest of the owner of the house from where the Bangladeshis were arrested.
