Assam CM on two-day visit to Silchar; reviews construction work of mini secretariat

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who is on a two-day visit to Barak valley arrived at the bypass of the ring road and took stock of the road construction there on Saturday.

Sarma inspected the progress of the road construction while engaging in discussion with local officials.

The Chief Minister kickstarted his two-day visit by paying tribute to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statue at Rangpur Zero Point in Silchar.

“It is a privilege to be back in Barak Valley. Started my tour today by paying tributes to former PM Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his statue at Rangpur Zero Point in Silchar. His towering vision continues to guide us. Sought his blessings & offered my prayers,” Sarma tweeted.

Earlier today, CM Sarma visited the construction site of the Mini Secretariat Barak Valley at Srikona in Silchar and inspected the progress of work.

The Assam CM was accompanied by state forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya, MPs Rajdeep Roy & Pallab Lochan Das, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty and others.

Earlier today, the Chief Minister took part in a crucial meeting at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Silchar. During the visit, Sarma will be inaugurating a slew of development projects.
