Senior BJP leader La Ganesan appointed as new Manipur Governor

President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday appointed La Ganesan as the new governor of Manipur. He has been appointed as the 17th Governor of Manipur by the President.
President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday appointed La Ganesan as the new governor of Manipur. He has been appointed as the 17th Governor of Manipur by the President.
A communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said Ganesan will be the new “Governor of Manipur with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office”.
La Ganesan is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is at present the party’s National Council Member and has earlier served the party in various capacities.
He has been appointed as the new Governor succeeding interim Governor of Manipur Ganga Prasad.
