The Assam government in a cabinet decision on Thursday appointed Home Guard Borsing Bey as a Constable in Assam Police. Bey had refused a huge bribe from drug dealers and helped recover drugs valued at Rs 12 crore in Karbi Anglong.

Bey recovered the drugs from a Guwahati-bound night super bus bearing registration number MN06B-0511 at a check gate under Dilai Police Station.

Acknowledging the heroic deed of Borsing Bey, whose selfless act led to the recovery of crystal meth worth Rs 12 crore, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Bey will be appointed as a constable in Assam Police.
