Manipur police on Wednesday apprehended an active cadre of proscribed People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from Horton Ingourok Khunou area in Thoubal district. The arrested cadre has been identified as self-styled
Manipur police on Wednesday apprehended an active cadre of proscribed People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from Horton Ingourok Khunou area in Thoubal district.
The arrested cadre has been identified as self-styled lieutenant of PLA Tekcham Sanathoi Singh alias Nono of Shikhong Mamang Leikai.
According to police report, the team of Thoubal police led by inspector N Tikendra Meetei conducted random search and frisking at Horton Ingourok Khunou after receiving reliable information about presence of some cadres of PLA in and around Ingourok Khunou area.
During interrogation, the arrested cadre Sanathoi revealed that he joined the outfit in January 2006 and underwent 45 days basic military training at Rijik camp in Tamu. He is presently holding the rank of lieutenant of PLA and working under self-styled colonel Jibon Singh of PLA.
An Aadhaar card was also recovered from his possession.
Later, the arrested cadre was handed over to Nongpok Sekmai Police Station for further investigation.
